“This longer term project in a Kent country manor has been a rewarding journey, evolving room by room to create a refined yet welcoming family home. Guided by the client’s vision of a comfortable and practical country retreat, we curated a scheme rooted in classical English style, layering warm colours, rich textures, and traditional patterns throughout. A key aspect of the design was the thoughtful integration of the client’s inherited collection of historical paintings and furniture, ensuring these pieces were showcased harmoniously within the new interiors. Highlights include the transformation of a contemporary barn addition into a two-level library with twin wood burners, and the reimagining of the Orangery, centred around a deep glass-topped well, into a versatile space for both relaxed family suppers and winter gatherings, with a bespoke bibliotech for cookbooks and glassware linking the kitchen to the dining space in the Orangery. The result is a house that blends heritage and comfort, craftsmanship and character, making the house both beautiful and an enduring family home shaped with fun, care and collaboration.”
